Calling All Contributors: Help Us Tell Louisiana’s Story
Louisiana is unlike anywhere else in the country. We have our own culture, our own rhythms, our own food, our own faith, and our own fierce sense of identity. And yet, more and more, the stories being told about our state are written by people who don’t live here—who don’t know what it’s like to walk the levees, worship in a country church, cook in a crawfish boil, or sit through a legislative session shaking your head at the nonsense.
That’s why we started The Bayou Insider—to take back the narrative. To tell our own stories, in our own voice, from every corner of this great state.
And now we’re inviting you to join us.
📈 Why We’re Expanding
In just a few short months, The Bayou Insider has published over 180 articles, and our readership continues to grow every week. We’ve covered everything from carbon capture legislation and insurance reform to hot air balloon festivals, swamp ghost towns, and fried shrimp po’ boys.
But here’s the truth: Louisiana is too rich, too diverse, and too complex for one voice.
We need your voice.
Whether you’re in Lake Charles or Lafayette, Ruston or Rayne, Bogalusa or Baton Rouge—we’re building a contributor network of everyday Louisianans who care about faith, family, freedom, food, and the future of our state.

🎯 What We Stand For
The Bayou Insider is unapologetically Louisiana-first.
We’re not bought. We’re not bowing. And we’re not here to make excuses for bad leadership—on the left or the right.
We believe in:
Faith over fear
Culture over conformity
Truth over tribalism
Community over clickbait
And we’re building a new kind of media—one that honors our past and fights for our future.
📬 How to Join the Team
It’s simple:
Send us an email at thebayouinsider@proton.me
Include:
Your name and city/parish
A sample of your writing (or a pitch/idea)
Topics you’re passionate about
We’re looking for contributors across all 64 parishes.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just getting started—we welcome both.
And if you don’t want to write but have story tips, leads, or ideas—we want to hear from you too.
🗣️ Final Word: Be Part of Louisiana’s Future
Louisiana has always survived because ordinary people stood up when it mattered most. Right now, we believe our culture, our values, and our voice are under threat—from both outside forces and apathetic insiders.
If you believe Louisiana deserves better…
If you believe our people are worth writing about…
If you’re tired of watching things slip away in silence…
Then step up. Send that email. Write that story. Join The Bayou Insider.
Let’s take back the narrative—together.
